What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves to your device. They are used to make a site work, to remember things between visits, and to measure how a site is being used.

What we use

We use one thing only: Google Analytics. We use it to see how many people visit the site, which pages they look at and roughly where in the world they are. It tells us whether the site is doing its job. It does not tell us who you are.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_09DR35PYDL. The first tells one visitor apart from another and the second keeps track of a single visit. Both last two years.

We do not use cookies for advertising. We do not track you across other websites. We do not sell or share your data with anyone for marketing.

Your choice

No cookies are set unless you accept. If you decline, or if you ignore the banner, Google Analytics stores nothing on your device and the site works exactly the same.

To be straight with you about one detail: the Google Analytics code does load on every page, with its storage switched off until you accept. That means your browser contacts Google and Google will see your IP address, even if you decline. What it cannot do until you accept is save anything to your device or recognise you on a later visit.

You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer of every page.

We keep one cookie whatever you choose, called sinarchie_consent. All it stores is whether you said yes or no, so we do not ask again on every page. It lasts a year.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Every major browser lets you do this, and its help pages explain how.

Other services

Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts and some code from Cloudflare. These do not set cookies, but they do mean your browser makes a request to those companies, which will see your IP address.
